BMI Calculator
The BMI Calculator (Body Mass Index) is a tool that helps individuals assess their overall body weight relative to their height. It offers two unit systems: Imperial (feet, inches, pounds) and Metric (centimeters, meters, kilograms). Users input their height and weight, choosing the appropriate units. The BMI calculator then computes the BMI, BMI category, BMI Prime, over/under limit percentage, and provides information on hazard ratios for all-cause mortality based on BMI. The results, including a visual representation with a line graph, assist in understanding one’s weight status and potential health implications.

Introduction of BMI
Ever heard of BMI ? It’s kind of like a quick check-in to see if your weight is in a healthy zone for your height. Think of it as a estimate, not a perfect science. But it can be a helpful nudge to see if you might need to talk to a doctor about your weight.
Based on a person’s height and weight, BMI calculates their leanness or corpulence and is used to define tissue mass.

BMI calculation formula
The Body Mass Index (BMI) is calculated using the following formula:
BMI=height(m)2weight(kg)
Where:
- weight is the person's weight in kilograms.
- height is the person's height in meters.
To calculate BMI, you first square the height in meters and then divide the weight in kilograms by the squared height. The resulting value gives an indication of a person's body mass relative to their height.
6ft height , 70 kg weight . BMI calculation example .
To calculate the BMI for a person with a height of 6 feet (which is equivalent to 1.8288 meters) and a weight of 70 kilograms, you can use the BMI formula:
BMI=(1.8288m)270kg
First, square the height:
(1.8288m)2=3.3449m2
Now, plug the values into the BMI formula:
BMI=3.3449m270kg
Finally, calculate the result:
BMI≈20.9
So, the BMI for a person with a height of 6 feet and a weight of 70 kg is approximately 20.9.
