What is Conversion Rate ?
We are going to talk about conversion rates. Let us know, how we can optimize our conversion rate, increase it a little, and make it effective. So first of all, let me tell you what this conversion rate is. Our goal is regarding conversion; if we consider it a conversion for ourselves and want to make sales, then those sales will be a conversion for me to tell you what this conversion rate is. Our goal is regarding conversion; if we consider it a conversion for ourselves and want to make sales, then those will be a conversion for us. If we have to get a lead form filled out, then filling out the lead form, if that activity happens, if that action is, then it will be a conversion for us. It depends, meaning conversion can be different for different things, there can be different conversions in part scenarios. Now we have come to know what conversion is.
Now, when we create our website, let’s take an example: our website is an e-commerce website, and we sell any product there. Whenever we create our website, what is the first target? To sell it, we have to bring maximum traffic to it. The first thing is traffic there, after that, they will see our product and buy it. When traffic comes to our website, What do we monitor to see if traffic is converting?
Let’s take an example: if 100 people came to your website and only one of them converted, then what is your conversion percentage? One percent. This is our conversion rate here. 1. percent. Now you tell me what you have to do: take this conversion rate gradually upwards; in other words, increase it gradually.
Conversion Rate Calculation Example Formula
The formula for calculating the conversion rate is simple and effective:
Conversion Rate (%)=(Number of VisitorsNumber of Conversions)×100
Conversion Rate Calculation Examples
Example 1: Calculating the E-commerce Conversion Rate
Imagine you run an e-commerce website, and during a specific period, you had 1,000 visitors to your site. Out of these visitors, 50 made a purchase. To calculate your e-commerce conversion rate:
Conversion Rate (%)=(1,00050)×100
In this case, your e-commerce conversion rate would be 5%. This means that 5% of the visitors to your website converted into customers by making a purchase.
Example 2: Calculating Shopping Cart Conversion Rate
Let's now examine a situation where you wish to gauge your shopping cart's efficacy. Over a month, 500 visitors added items to their shopping carts, and 100 of them completed the purchase. To calculate the shopping cart conversion rate:
Conversion Rate (%)=(500100)×100
Your shopping cart conversion rate, in this example, would be 20%. This indicates that 20% of visitors who added items to their cart went on to make a purchase.
